Nowadays, owning multiple passports are deemed as a status symbol among the world’s richest.
- Elites are buying second (or third) passports via Citizenship Investment Programs (CIPs), which allow them to invest in a country in exchange for citizenship.
- These programs can cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $2 million while some countries’ pre-requisites for such programs come with high expectations on the credibility and source of wealth of applicants.
- While having multiple passports offers known advantages, it is largely seen as a status symbol among the wealthy.
Through these Citizenship by Investment Programs (CIPs), wealthy individuals are investing in a particular country in exchange for citizenship. Once they have obtained citizenship, they then have the basic rights of any other citizen of that country – like owning a passport.
One such destination which we offer is Malta. Malta offers high tax rebates to attract UHNWs to invest into their country. Furthermore, with a Maltese passport, one can live, work and study in any European Union countries and travel up to 160 countries without needing to apply for any visas. One can literally obtain the passport in 9 months period with prior entry or number of days stayed in Malta required.
- Individual Investor Program (IIP):
– offering the European citizenship and EU passport at a one-time investment of approximately €880,000. - Malta Residence and Visa Program (MRVP):
– offering Malta residency and European travel benefits at a one-time investment starting from approximately €155,000.
- Global Residence Program (GRP):
– offering Malta residency and European travel benefits at an annual renewal cost of approximately €24,000 per year. - Ordinary Residence (OR), or The Residence Program (TRP):
– offered to citizen of a EU member state who is interested in one of the two residency programs for EU nationals.
